LEAD Program Vision
At ALG Hockey, we believe teams have higher success on the ice when their players develop as both elite athletes and strong leaders with the mental performance habits to reach their fullest potential.
Our vision is that teams who utilize the LEAD Program have more confident, resilient, and elite-minded players, resulting in a positive impact on team performance and culture both on and off the ice.
LEAD Program Topics
Teams can select from a variety of topics for program inclusion. Single session, 1/2-season and full-season programming availalbe. For 1/2-season or full-season programming, material is interconnected throughout the experience.

LEAD Program Models
The LEAD Program is fully customizable for the needs, interests, and dynamics of the team. Programming can be both in person or virtual with active learning experiences and engagement. Formats and components can include:
Team sessions
Small group sessions
One-on-one coaching sessions
Independent activities (e.g. readings and reflective practice)
Exposure to strategies players and teams can use immediately
LEAD Program options include single sessions, 1/2-season programming or full-season programming.

**Players who have previously participated in ALG Hockey programming (previous LEAD programming or ALG Leadership Development courses) may have the opportunity to participate as team leads in future experiences.
LEAD Program Outcomes
Players develop and value an elite (growth) mindset and have the strategies to avoid an average (fixed) mindset response to their experiences.
Players acquire specific practices and skills to maximize their mental performance and improve performance on, and off, the ice.
Players develop effective goal-setting strategies, focused on controllable and process.
Players acquire strategies to develop grit and resilience.
Players are self-aware and know how to incorporate reflective practice to reach their full potential.
Players are confident and have the strategies to manage adversity for elite performance.
Players see themselves as leaders, regardless of team status, and develop skills of leaders.
Players contribute to a positive team culture, hold each other accountable, and support the growth and development of others. each other’s growth.
